On September 1, 2025, The University of Tokyo Market Design Center (UTMD) marks its fifth anniversary since its establishment. We have reached this milestone thanks to the generous support from corporate partners, our faculty, students, and all those involved.

Tokyo Conference on Market Design 2025
We have garnered significant attention from researchers worldwide as a unique research center specializing in market design.
In June 2025, we hosted an international conference that brought together leading researchers, including Nobel laureate Professor Paul Milgrom.
Rising Stars in Market Design
We host the annual international workshop “Rising Stars in Market Design”, where young researchers on the academic job market present their work.
